I created a questionnaire on google forms to get some primary research. I asked questions about my audience, music, magazines and reviews.

Personal Questions

The first question i asked was ' How old are you?'. From this 6 people were aged 16, 9 people were aged 17, and two people said they where 18. I asked this question as they are audience and the information is relevant to them. The second question was about their gender. 11 were male, 4 female and 2 people they said prefer not to say. Knowing the gender was important as girls and boys have different interests and different things appeal to them so its good to get a mixture of results.

Music

The first question in the music category was 'do you like music?'. 1 people said yes and 1 person said no. The second question i asked was 'what type of music do you like?'. I got a lot of different results but the genres that go multiple votes where pop, hip-hop, heavy metal, indie and some people said any.

Magazines

In this section the first question was 'Do you read magazines?'. 7 people said sometimes, 7 people said they don't and 3 people said they do. From this we know that less people read magazines this might be because they are'n interested in it or that people might think they are too old for them. I then wanted to find out the actual reason why hey don't read magazines. Many of the results said that they didn't like them, they don't have the time or they weren't interested in them. However the results that stood out to me was that they didn't have access to them.

*Creating my magazine would solve this as its an online magazine an they can just open the link. I think that more people would read magazines if they where aware of online magazines and where to find the ones they like.

I also asked ' What would make you want to read magazines?', so i can take the feedback and put it into my work. Most of the reasons were personal, talking about how if they were more interesting or relatable to them. But some of the answer's that i got which i could do to my work is if it was for free, online and the front cover. The cover is the main part of a magazine and it is what sells it so i am going to have to do some secondary research on it.

The final question in this section is 'Would you read articles about live music, artists and their music?'. 5 people voted maybe, 6 people voted no and 6 people said yes. This was an important question as that is what my magazine is based on and if the audiences didn't like it then i wouldn't be successful.

Reviews

The fist question was 'Do you read reviews?', 8 people said yes, 6 people said sometimes and 3 people said no.

The second question was 'If so, what type of reviews do you read?'. Collectively the results i got were that 5 people liked to read music reviews, 9 people said the liked film reviews and 1 person liked to read gaming reviews.

The final question was important as this is what the main part of the text in my magazine would be. The question was 'Would you read concert reviews?' 6 people said yes, 1 person said depends on the concert but 9 people said no.

The are the results i got from my google forms document. I also transferred all of my data into an excel document so i could clearly see who chose what and read all of the reasons more clearly.
