Week 9

On Monday I started off by writing my page on local music as this page was more about information I have found about venues and gigs coming up. I have also taken pictures of artist and put them in frames on Photoshop (process is in a blog) for all the artists I am talking about in my magazine.

I then added a video my magazine on the Shawn Mendes spread bellow one of my images, the video is of the ending of the concert when the confetti cannons go off, i have done this as i though it would be a good way to interact with the reader and the image i have used is from that video.

On the Tuesday I started to create my advert for the second page in the magazine. I brought in my iPhone box as I was going to do an ad for my phone. I then used a DLSR camera ant take images in the light box that was in class. I got many pictures from this but there was a glare in the glass from the majority of the pictures. Once I taken these pictures I did a bit of research on iPhone adverts. I wanted to follow the house style but I didn't take any pictures in that style.

When I came back into college on Wednesday Andrea, my teacher, had a look at the photographs I had taken the day before and said i should take some more images to see if we could get any without the lights being reflected onto the glass. So I went into the studio with my phone, box and the camera. I ended up getting better photographs from this shoot so i decided to use these for my advert.

I then started to create my advert using Photoshop although I didn't know what type of advert to create so I decided the advert would be a competition to win the phone. Once i created this I put in onto my magazine.

Throughout Wednesday I wrote my Ed Sheeran page and on Friday I started to write up my Vamps page. I found it harder to write my Ed Sheeran page as i didn't exactly know what to write, although i did do a plan on what i was going to say but i didn't know how to word it. I also thought this page and the local page was hard as i didn't have anything to focus on and the vamps and the Shawn Mendes articles had a cover line on the front giving the main topic i'm talking about.

When writing the articles about local music and Ed Sheeran i wrote it straight onto the magazine whereas for the vamps article i have started to write it on a google docs. This might be why i also found it easier to write and it could also be that i was at home and not distracted at college.
