These are some photographs I took on Wednesday during a workshop for practicing our photography skills. I worked with Ethan on the task and we took in turns on going through the different shot sizes and took some practice shots and hopefully we will use these skills in our final project.
Medium shot
A medium shot is a shot that is taken from the waist up. A mid shot allows you to see facial expressions and body language. Here i got Ethan to stand against the fenced shed although this wasn't he best background as you could see round the shed so we changed backgrounds to the wall.
As i am doing a short interview with a fan (one of my friends) from the concert i am going to get a close up shot of their face or a mid shot of them and quote what they have said.

Rule of thirds
I used the rule of thirds in this image. The Rule of Thirds is a guideline in composing photos. If you divide your scene that you want into thirds both vertically and horizontally, the rule of thirds suggests that you place your subject long one of those lines.

Close up
The close up is where you have to move the camera close to the model and is usually of their face. As i am doing a short interview with a fan (one of my friends) from the concert i am going to get a close up shot of their face or a mid shot of them and quote what they have said.

Extreme close up

Low angle
When taking this low angle shot i had to get on the floor and face the camera up towards Ethan. I thought the pictures we took in this location were the best and had the best quality. I also had to make sure that the sun was behind me as the subject of the photo, Ethan, would be illuminated. However this meant that he was squinting in these photos.

High angle
The high angle was difficult to capture as Ethan was so tall and even standing up on an outdoor exercise bike didn't help, however there is a slight elevation to the image.

Worm shot
The worm shot is took from the ground. The image was supposed to be focused more on the grass, but as the grass wasn't long enough i couldn't capture it. I put the camera on the wall while Ethan lent against the tree.

Ariel
In this Ariel shot I was still stood on the outdoor exercise bike but this time Ethan sat on the floor. However looking back I realised that this is a high angle shot as the ariel would be directly above, this could've worked if Ethan was lead on the ground

Two shot
A two shot in photography is where two people are in the same shot and they don't have to be directly next to each other. However this is a bad shot as theres a lot of dead space around them so the images below are better shots.

A Good two shot
